Abstract
|
|
|
The author studied the effects of Mg++,. Ca++, Na+, K+, and DNP on the ATPase activity of microsomal fraction isolated from rabbit urinary bladder and obtained the following results.
1. The microsomal fraction of urinary bladder contained the Na+-and K+-activated ATPase.
The ATPase activity increased with protein content in the microsomal fraction.
2. The maximum ATPase activity was obtained at Na+ concentration of 100 mM and K+ concentration of 10mM, respectively.
3. The ATPase was not activated by Na+ an K+ in the absence of Mg++.
4. The Na+-and K+ activated ATPase was inhibited by Ca++ in the presence of Mg++
5. The microsomal ATPase of urinary bladder was not effected by DNP.
6. The microsomal ATPase activity of urinary bladder was lower than that of heart or skeletal muscle.
